Vrabček upanja (Sparrow of hope)
The Fundacija Vrabček upanja (Sparrow of Hope Foundation) is a voluntary, non-profit and non-governmental organization that finances its purpose with funds received from donors and sponsors.
Until 2018, funds were collected exclusively for the purchase of equipment and accessories for the department for disabled youth and rehabilitation in Stara Gora. After that year (when the construction of the new rehabilitation center began), the funds collected until then were transferred to the account of the General Hospital dr. Franca Derganca Nova Gorica, which, by signing the agreement, undertook to purchase equipment for the new department.
With full hearts, we were then able to do what we had been dreaming of as the Fundacija Vrabček upanja for some time: they expanded their field of activity and offered help in different cases and situations, both to individuals and to the entire society and environment.
Aljažev kraj foundation
The Alježev kraj Foundation was founded in 2020, the year that marked the 175th anniversary of Aljaž’ birth and the 125th anniversary of the construction of the Aljaž Tower on Triglav.
The foundation’s mission is to care for the preservation of cultural and natural heritage and the development of places “below Triglav”.
Fundacija Jure Robič (Jure Robič Foundation)
The Jure Robič Foundation was founded with the aim of preserving the name and work of Jure Robič and offering support to young cyclists chasing their dreams. As part of the foundation,takes place the “Juhuhu, kolo je tu!” (Hooray, the bike is here!) campaign, which gives children from socially disadvantaged families a bicycle and enables them to experience the joy of riding a bicycle. The same as Jure Robič felt.
Humanitarian Association KID Children for children
The association accepts and forwards donated used children’s clothes, shoes, toys, maternity clothes, buys and sells used children’s equipment (strollers, car seats, cots, backpacks, baskets, bed linen, etc.), offers free educational assistance to children in the lower grades of primary school, organize free language courses, draw attention to the increasing hardships of young families, unemployment, they also have a SAFE POINT for children (violence in the family, at school, on the street,…), are a collection center for plastic caps in Goriška.
Cultural tourist association Lokovec
TKD unites locals and lovers of Lokovec, who want to revive the place and preserve life in it. It also got positive response from people who moved out of the place decades ago and now like to come back again. Many of them became actively involved in our work, some weekenders who spend their free time in this environment also joined our ranks. The symbol of our association is the “perksteiger” nail, which represents our heritage and symbolizes togetherness.
